Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt expresses his happiness about joining Manchester United and reflects on his performance after the Netherlands' 5-2 win over Bosnia in the Nations League.
Dutch footballer Matthijs de Ligt has shared his excitement about his recent transfer to Manchester United, a move he made during the summer transfer window, as reported by British media.
De Ligt, 25, joined the Old Trafford club in mid-August after playing for Bayern Munich. He has already featured in three matches for his new team.
"I'm happy to have joined Manchester United. The Premier League has more fans than the Bundesliga," De Ligt said in a post-match interview following the Netherlands' 5-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Nations League.
Though pleased with the team's victory, De Ligt admitted he wasn't fully satisfied with his personal performance. "We won, but I'm not happy with how I played. I should have reacted better before their second goal. I always give my best in every game," added the defender, who has made 46 appearances for the Dutch national team.
