Eintracht Frankfurt are considering Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo as a possible replacement for Omar Marmoush, who is reportedly close to a move to Manchester City.
Eintracht Frankfurt are preparing for the potential departure of Omar Marmoush, with reports suggesting the Bundesliga side could target Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes. According to Sky Sport Germany’s transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg, Kalimuendo is highly regarded by Frankfurt, though he is not yet their top priority.
Reports from Foot Mercato indicate that Manchester City are nearing an €80 million agreement for Marmoush, the Egyptian striker who has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season. The Premier League champions are said to have made significant progress in negotiations, making Marmoush’s departure increasingly likely.
Kalimuendo, a 23-year-old French forward, has been in fine form for Rennes this season, scoring seven goals in 15 matches. A product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth system, Kalimuendo further developed his skills during a loan spell with Racing Club de Lens before making his permanent move to Rennes.
Last Friday, the France U21 international scored his 30th goal for Rennes in a match against OGC Nice, further solidifying his reputation as a reliable scorer. The forward is also admired by Rennes’ new manager Jorge Sampaoli, which could make any transfer negotiations more complicated.
