England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway could be delayed after South Florida issued a major heat warning, with temperatures expected to feel as high as 44°C.

England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway could face disruption before a ball is kicked, with extreme weather conditions in Miami raising the possibility of a delayed kick-off.
A major heat risk has been declared across South Florida, where temperatures are forecast to reach between 29°C and 32°C. With high humidity, the real-feel temperature could climb to 44°C by the scheduled 5:00 p.m. local kick-off.
The City of Miami urged residents and visitors to take precautions throughout the day.
"Major Heat Risk is in effect across much of South Florida today. High temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illness. Stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible."
The weather warning has increased speculation that FIFA could be forced to delay the match if conditions become unsafe for players, officials and supporters.
FIFPRO, the global players' union, recommends that matches should be delayed or postponed if local temperatures exceed 28°C, although the final decision rests with FIFA and match officials.
England has already experienced weather disruption at this World Cup. Their Round of 16 victory over Mexico was postponed by one hour because of severe thunderstorms, with supporters asked to take shelter and media personnel instructed to remain inside the stadium during the weather alert.
Despite the difficult conditions, Thomas Tuchel's side eventually overcame Mexico 3-2 to book a quarter-final meeting with an in-form Norway led by Erling Haaland.
There is at least some positive news for supporters watching from home.
The UK Government has confirmed that pubs across England and Wales will remain open until 30 minutes after the final whistle, even if the kick-off is delayed because of the weather.
Ministers had already approved extended opening hours until 2:00 a.m., but new temporary licensing measures provide additional flexibility should the match finish later than expected.
Policing Minister Sarah Jones explained the decision.
"England fans deserve the opportunity to watch every minute of the quarter-final together, and this extension guarantees exactly that."
"After the weather delay before the Mexico game, we wanted to give supporters and venues complete certainty that nobody would miss any of the action."
The temporary licensing changes will also apply to any remaining England matches, including the World Cup final, allowing pubs and bars to stay open until half an hour after the final whistle if further delays occur.
With soaring temperatures now replacing thunderstorms as the latest obstacle, organisers will closely monitor conditions throughout the day before deciding whether England and Norway can begin their World Cup quarter-final on schedule.
