Fabian Ruiz has flourished under Luis Enrique at PSG, admitting that the team's transformation has been "radical." The midfielder believes the squad is fully adapting to the coach's philosophy.
Fabian Ruiz is enjoying his best form since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli in 2022. The Spanish midfielder, once criticized for inconsistency, has become a key figure in a revitalized midfield alongside Vitinha and Manuel Ugarte.
In an interview with MARCA, Ruiz discussed his personal growth and mindset.
“I don’t usually think much about the future. I prefer to focus on the present and improve myself every day. I know I can always give more, and I work towards that in every match, in every recovery, and in the gym,” he stated.
PSG are having a strong season, currently in the Champions League quarter-finals and fighting on all fronts. Ruiz credits the team’s success to the tactical changes implemented by Luis Enrique.
“PSG is one of the best teams in Europe. Last year we reached the semi-finals, now we are in the quarter-finals. There is no time to relax. We must continue on this path and prove that we are among the best.”
The Spaniard also highlighted the impact of Luis Enrique’s philosophy.
“It’s true that it has been a radical change, but we have fully adapted to what the coach wants. We are in good form, mentally strong, and still competing in all competitions. Our goal is to keep pushing for a successful season.”
Ruiz also emphasized the importance of a collective effort, particularly in PSG’s high-intensity playing style.
“We are a team, and all the forwards contribute both offensively and defensively. That’s what the coach demands. If you don’t press, you don’t play. We have a strong squad, and when someone steps in, the team doesn’t suffer.”
