The arrival of Paris Saint-Germain players at training often resembles a luxury car show. Ferraris, Bentleys, Lamborghinis, and other machines worth hundreds of thousands of euros are hardly unusual when PSG's stars report for work.
But this time, the car attracting all the attention was one of the cheapest and smallest in the parking lot.
And behind the wheel was Fabián Ruiz.
A video showing PSG players arriving at training has attracted attention on social media, with supporters quickly noticing the Spanish international's unusual choice of transport.
While several of his teammates arrived in expensive luxury cars, Ruiz appeared in a Smart.
The contrast was impossible to miss.
Ferraris, Bentleys, Lamborghinis... and then a Smart
Football supporters have become accustomed to seeing elite players driving some of the world's most expensive cars.
That is particularly true at PSG, where a squad filled with multimillionaires has turned the club's training-ground parking area into something resembling a supercar showroom.
French newspaper Le Parisien has previously described PSG players' arrivals at training as a parade of luxury vehicles, with Ferraris, Bentleys and Lamborghinis among the cars associated with the club's stars.
Then there is Ruiz.
The Spaniard apparently has little interest in following the same trend when he drives to training.
His compact Smart looks almost comically modest alongside some of the machines belonging to his teammates, which is precisely why his arrival attracted so much attention.
It is not the first time Ruiz has been noticed for his choice. French media have previously reported on the midfielder appearing at PSG's training centre in a Smart.
A superstar without the superstar car
What makes the story even more interesting is Ruiz's status in world football.
He is hardly a young academy player waiting for his first major contract.
The Spanish midfielder has established himself as an important member of one of Europe's strongest teams and has collected some of football's biggest trophies with PSG.
This summer brought another enormous achievement.
Ruiz became a world champion with Spain, adding football's biggest international prize to an already impressive collection of honours.
His status and earnings would easily allow him to choose virtually any luxury car he wanted.
He simply appears to prefer something else.
Ruiz steals the show without trying
There was no spectacular Lamborghini engine, no Ferrari and no enormous luxury SUV.
Instead, one of PSG's biggest stars arrived for work in one of the smallest cars on the road.
And surrounded by vehicles worth a small fortune, Fabián Ruiz and his Smart still managed to steal the show.
