Dinamo Zagreb is setting its sights high under new coach Fabio Cannavaro, with reports suggesting the Croatian champions are targeting Sebastien Haller, a striker who once cost €30 million.

Haller, an Ivory Coast international born and raised in France, is seen as a statement signing for the club.

Haller rose to prominence with impressive stints at Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham, and Ajax, leading to a high-profile move to Borussia Dortmund in 2022 to replace Erling Haaland. However, shortly after his arrival, Haller was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which paused his career. After overcoming the illness, he returned to the field but struggled to establish himself in Dortmund’s plans.

This season, the 30-year-old striker has been playing on loan at Leganes in Spain. However, as Dinamo Zagreb looks to bolster their squad, Germanijak.hr reports that Haller is a key target for the Croatian champions.

Dinamo recently appointed Fabio Cannavaro as head coach, replacing Nenad Bjelica. Cannavaro is expected to move swiftly to strengthen the squad, promising reinforcements to push the club’s ambitions further. Haller’s signing would undoubtedly be a significant boost for the team.

Whether this potential move materializes remains to be seen, but Cannavaro’s arrival and the club’s pursuit of such high-caliber players are already generating excitement among fans in Zagreb.
