Andres Vombergar and his San Lorenzo teammates were confronted by angry fans at training, demanding better performances amid the club’s disappointing season.
Andres Vombergar and his teammates at San Lorenzo experienced a tense training session after frustrated fans invaded the club’s facilities to express their discontent. Following the highly anticipated arrival of Iker Muniain, San Lorenzo supporters had hoped for a resurgence.
However, the club, famously supported by Pope Francis, currently sits at a disappointing 24th place in the Argentinian league, with only one win in their last five matches. This poor run of form recently led to Leandro Romagnoli’s dismissal as head coach.
Fed up with the club’s ongoing struggles, fans took matters into their own hands, entering the training ground to confront the players. They demanded more pride and effort from the team and emphasized the importance of representing San Lorenzo with honor. Fans are now expecting a stronger showing in the upcoming match against Barracas Central on Sunday.
Three senior players addressed the fans, apologizing for recent performances and explaining that club management has also fallen short of their promises. Among those confronted was Andres Vombergar, a former Slovenian international, who has scored once in eight appearances this season.
