Miha Zajc had to stay in Istanbul while Fenerbahçe plays a qualification match for the Champions League tonight.
In the second round of Champions League qualifiers, the Turkish giant Fenerbahçe will face Swiss club Lugano. Slovenian international Žan Celar no longer plays for Lugano, so tonight's qualifier in Switzerland will be without any Slovenians, as Miha Zajc will not be part of the Turkish squad.
Fenerbahçe's coach, Jose Mourinho, did not take the Slovenian footballer to the away game, further confirming rumors that Zajc will have to change clubs this summer. There is some interest in him among Turkish top-tier clubs, most recently from Goztepe, where David Tijanić plays.
In the Champions League qualifiers today, we will also see Nino Žugelj with Bodo/Glimt against RFS, Dušan Stojinović with Jagiellonia against Panevezys, Vid Belec with APOEL against Petrocub, and Mario Jurčević with Partizan against Dynamo Kyiv.
