Shaqueel van Persie, son of Dutch football legend Robin van Persie, has signed a contract extension with Feyenoord, tying him to the club until 2028. The 18-year-old striker is progressing through the ranks at the reigning Eredivisie champions and is expected to get his first opportunity with the senior team this season.
Robin van Persie, renowned for his prolific career, started his journey at Feyenoord before moving to Arsenal in 2004. He later played for Manchester United and Fenerbahçe, eventually retiring in 2019 back at Feyenoord. Now, his son looks poised to follow in his footsteps.
Shaqueel began his football journey at Manchester City before joining Feyenoord’s academy in 2017. His development at the Rotterdam club suggests a bright future, with many hoping he can emulate his father’s success.
