Wrexham’s £500,000 Las Vegas party took a chaotic turn when several players got trapped in a lift for an hour during a boozy night out.

Wrexham's promotion celebrations took an unexpected turn when several drunken players were trapped in a nightclub lift for nearly an hour during the team’s now-traditional Las Vegas getaway.

The Welsh club, backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are enjoying their third straight trip to Vegas after completing a historic third successive promotion, rising from the National League to the Championship in record time under manager Phil Parkinson.

But their wild £500,000 party hit a snag when a group of players got stuck inside an elevator after reportedly “messing around” and jumping up and down inside it. According to The Sun, they were headed to the fourth-floor entrance of a club when the lift suddenly stopped moving.

A source explained: “They had been drinking all day and were a bit over-excited when they got in the lift. Next thing they knew, it came to an abrupt stop and wouldn’t move. They ended up having a sobering hour-long wait for firefighters to get them out.”

The players were eventually rescued by emergency services, unharmed but definitely less thrilled, as their wild night was briefly put on hold.

This Vegas blowout marks the third consecutive post-season trip for Wrexham, funded by the club’s famous co-chairmen, who continue to document the team’s rise through the ranks in the Welcome to Wrexham series.

Wrexham’s ascent through English football’s top five tiers in three seasons is unprecedented, and the club is now preparing for life in the Championship. With a Premier League dream on the horizon, focus will soon shift from pool parties and nightclub lifts to tactical planning and summer recruitment.
