Borussia Dortmund have signed Joey Veerman from PSV Eindhoven for around €22 million, taking BVB's summer spending on six new players to approximately €110m.

PSV Eindhoven are paying the price for their success in the Netherlands, with another important player leaving for one of the Bundesliga's biggest clubs.
Only recently, Bayern Munich invested around €50 million to sign Ismael Saibari from the Dutch champions. Now their great German rivals Borussia Dortmund have followed the same route.
Dortmund have officially completed the signing of Joey Veerman, with the 27-year-old Dutch midfielder becoming their sixth reinforcement of a busy summer transfer window.
BVB will reportedly pay PSV around €22 million as the initial transfer fee, while Veerman has signed a long-term contract running until June 2031.
Dortmund add an experienced midfielder
Veerman arrives in Germany after establishing himself as one of the leading midfielders in Dutch football.
His technical quality and passing have been important ingredients in PSV's recent success, and Dortmund have now moved to add those qualities to their midfield ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign.
The transfer also continues an interesting summer trend involving the two German giants and PSV.
Bayern struck first by signing Saibari for approximately €50m. Dortmund have now responded by taking another important member of the Eindhoven squad across the border into Germany.
PSV already have Veerman's replacement
The Dutch champions have not waited long to react to Veerman's departure.
PSV have brought in Kodai Sano from NEC Nijmegen, paying around €15 million for the 22-year-old Japanese international.
The deal represents another major investment by PSV and breaks their transfer record for the second time this year.
The previous record had been established with the €12m arrival of Başar Önal from Lille.
Sano now faces the difficult task of helping fill the gap left by Veerman as PSV attempt to defend their position at the top of Dutch football.
Dortmund have already spent around €110m
Veerman becomes the sixth new face at Dortmund this summer as the club continues a significant reconstruction of its squad.
BVB have also signed Giannis Konstantelias, Konstantinos Karetsas, Joane Gadou, Kauã Prates and Justin Lerma.
Combined, Dortmund's six additions have cost approximately €110 million, underlining the club's determination to compete for major trophies this season.
And their transfer business might not be finished.
Newcastle striker Nick Woltemade has also been linked with a move to Dortmund as BVB consider adding another option to their attack before the transfer window closes.
Veerman could immediately face Bayern
Dortmund do not have long to wait for their first major test.
On Saturday, BVB face Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup, meaning Veerman could quickly come up against his former PSV teammate Saibari.
A week later, Dortmund begin their Bundesliga campaign.
PSV have already lost two important players to Germany's biggest clubs this summer. Bayern took Saibari, Dortmund have now taken Veerman, and the Dutch champions are once again being forced to rebuild after their success made their stars attractive across Europe.
