Phil Foden, the Manchester City forward, has taken steps to optimize his nutrition by hiring a full-time personal chef, who will live on his luxurious countryside estate in Cheshire.

The move comes as Foden works to overcome low iron levels that have impacted his health. The property, which he shares with his partner Rebecca Cooke and their three children, spans two-and-a-half acres and boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and features including a private fishing lake and a one-room guest cottage.

Reports from The Sun reveal that Foden’s chef will reside in a separate gatekeeper’s cottage on the estate, ensuring that the player’s nutritional needs are consistently met. Foden’s mother, Claire, discussed her son’s dietary changes on the podcast Talk Eat Laugh, saying, “The shocking thing is I hear him ordering salmon a lot now, and he never used to eat that! He used to have low iron levels, but that’s all up to scratch now.”

A source mentioned to The Sun that Foden’s decision reflects his dedication to maintaining his performance while balancing the rigors of the Premier League. “Phil wants to be on top of his nutrition, and the chef has a lovely space to prepare all his meals. It’s the ultimate luxury, and because he’s away a lot with the team, having his own chef means he can just focus on his football and young family.”

Foden had an exceptional previous season, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in 53 appearances, contributing significantly to Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title. His stellar performances also earned him the PFA Player of the Year award, affirming his status as one of England’s brightest football talents.

This season, however, has seen a shift for the 23-year-old. Foden has started only three of City’s ten league matches so far, highlighting new challenges as he works to regain his top form. Following a surprising defeat to Bournemouth, Manchester City will look to bounce back in their upcoming Champions League clash against Sporting CP on Tuesday, where Foden hopes to make a significant impact.
