Former Montenegro international Andrija Delibašić, who played for Partizan and Mallorca, has passed away at 43 after a two-year battle with a brain tumor.
Montenegrin football is in mourning following the tragic passing of Andrija Delibašić, who lost his two-year battle with cancer. According to Montenegrin national broadcaster RTCG, the former national team striker died at the age of 43.
Delibašić began his professional career at Partizan Belgrade, where he played in the Champions League before securing a move to La Liga side Mallorca.
During his time in Spain, he had loan spells at Benfica, Braga, AEK Athens, Beira Mar, and Real Sociedad before later playing for Hércules and Rayo Vallecano. He ended his playing career in 2015 with Sutjeska Nikšić in his homeland.
A former Montenegro international, Delibašić transitioned into coaching after retirement, but his life and career were tragically cut short by illness.
