Osijek have signed Fran Karačić on loan from Hajduk Split until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.
Fran Karačić is a new Osijek player after joining the club on loan until the end of the season from Hajduk Split.
The 29-year-old right-back departs Hajduk just six months after arriving in Split, having fallen out of the regular plans of head coach Gonzalo García, who has preferred Luka Hodak and Niko Sigur on the right flank.
“Fran Karačić has joined the White and Blues! He arrives on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy,” Osijek announced on social media.
Reduced role at Hajduk
Karačić began the season as Hajduk’s first-choice right-back, but the emergence of Hodak saw him lose his place in the starting XI, with most of his minutes coming from the bench.
He joined Hajduk in the summer of 2025 from Lokomotiva Zagreb for a reported €200,000. Since then, he made 17 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist.
His last league start came on October 4, in a 1–0 away win against Vukovar in Vinkovci. From that point on, he managed just 36 minutes across the next eight SuperSport HNL matches. His most recent appearance was a 29-minute cameo against Varaždin at Poljud.
Career and market value
Across his career, Karačić has also played for NK Zagreb, Kustošija, Lučko, Dinamo Zagreb, Brescia and Rudeš. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €750,000.
For Osijek, the loan represents an opportunity to add experience and depth at right-back ahead of the decisive months of the season, while Karačić gets the chance to revive his form and playing time.
