Udinese is set to sign French defender Oumar Solet, who will form a defensive partnership with Slovenia's Jaka Bijol after leaving Salzburg.
Italian club Udinese appears to be the next destination for talented French defender Oumar Solet, who recently parted ways with Salzburg under unclear circumstances.
Solet, who has been a key player for Salzburg in recent years, shocked many in Austria by mutually terminating his contract with the club just before the transfer window closed. The reasons for the split remain mysterious, especially given that Solet's market value is estimated at €10 million, and he has made over 100 appearances for Salzburg.
The news created a stir in the transfer market, with Villarreal expressing immediate interest. However, it seems that the 24-year-old will continue his career in Udinese, where he could form an exciting defensive pairing with Slovenian international Jaka Bijol.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal has already been agreed upon, and Solet is expected to be officially unveiled as an Udinese player soon.
