After being written off by Simone Inzaghi at Al-Hilal, Aleksandar Mitrović could leave with $25 million compensation, before sealing a blockbuster move to Manchester United.

Aleksandar Mitrović is on the verge of leaving Al-Hilal, and it could lead to the most lucrative chapter of his career.

The 30-year-old Serbian striker has been informed that he is no longer part of Simone Inzaghi's plans. Despite being the club's top scorer in the past two seasons—outperforming a roster full of international stars—Mitrović has been officially sidelined as the new coach reshapes the squad.

Mitrović won't leave empty-handed. According to his contract, Al-Hilal must pay him $25 million in severance if the club terminates the deal. That figure represents his full salary for the coming season, making it unlikely he will willingly walk away without compensation.

However, Mitrović may not be unemployed for long. Reports from England, including journalist Ben Jacobs, claim that Manchester United have discussed the possibility of signing the Serbian forward. He is one of several candidates to lead the line at Old Trafford, alongside Benjamin Šeško and Hugo Ekitike.

"There was talk at the Dream Theater about the potential transfer of Aleksandar Mitrović," Jacobs stated, referring to United's iconic stadium. The Red Devils are in search of a more experienced and reliable option up front as Rasmus Højlund struggles to deliver consistent performances.

For Mitrović, a move to Manchester United would be a career-defining opportunity. He already has substantial experience in the Premier League, having scored 38 goals in 129 appearances for Fulham and Newcastle. His physical presence, finishing ability, and familiarity with English football make him an attractive option for United’s attack.

Since joining Al-Hilal in 2023, Mitrović has scored 68 goals and recorded 15 assists in just 79 appearances, while pocketing an estimated $50 million net salary. His time in Saudi Arabia has been lucrative, but the chance to return to Europe—and potentially become United’s No.9—could be the perfect way to close out a remarkable career.
