Gabriel Jesus has arrived in Barcelona ahead of his €10m transfer from Arsenal, immediately insisting his troublesome knee is in excellent condition.

Gabriel Jesus has arrived in Barcelona and is now only a successful medical away from completing his transfer from Arsenal to the Catalan giants.
The 29-year-old Brazilian spoke briefly after arriving in the city and immediately addressed the biggest question surrounding his move – the condition of the knee that has caused him significant problems in recent years.
"I'm happy, my knee is great," Jesus said. Asked about his ambitions with Barcelona, his message was equally clear: "I want to win trophies."
Jesus suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee in 2025, meaning Barcelona's medical examination will be particularly important. If no problems are discovered, the transfer is expected to be completed today.
Barcelona will pay around €10m plus bonuses
Barcelona are expected to pay Arsenal approximately €10m plus performance-related bonuses for the former Manchester City striker. Jesus is then set to sign a two-year contract, with the Catalan club holding an option for a further season.
He would become Barcelona's sixth signing ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, following Rodri, Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Dominik Livaković and João Cancelo.
There will also be familiar faces waiting for him in the dressing room. Jesus previously played alongside Rodri and Cancelo at Manchester City, where he established himself in European football before eventually joining Arsenal.
Barcelona see Jesus as a different attacking option to Gordon and Adeyemi. The Brazilian does not offer the same explosive pace, but his technical ability, movement and combination play in tight spaces could make him particularly valuable against deep and compact defensive lines.
The final obstacle is now the medical examination. If Jesus receives the green light, Barcelona will complete one of the more intriguing deals of their summer for a relatively modest initial fee.
