Galatasaray signs Colombian defender Carlos Cuesta from Genk on a 3.5-year deal, paying €8 million in installments.
Galatasaray has officially announced the signing of Carlos Cuesta from Belgian club Genk. The 25-year-old Colombian defender has agreed to a 3.5-year contract with the Turkish club, starting from the 2024-2025 season.
In their statement, Galatasaray confirmed, "An agreement has been reached with Racing Club Genk for the transfer of professional footballer Carlos Eccehomo Cuesta Figueroa. A 3.5-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2024-2025 season."
Transfer details
Galatasaray will pay €8 million in transfer fees to Genk, spread over three installments. Cuesta’s annual salary structure is as follows:
- €650,000 for the second half of the 2024-2025 season
- €1.45 million for the 2025-2026 season
- €1.55 million for the 2026-2027 season
- €1.65 million for the 2027-2028 season
Cuesta is expected to strengthen Galatasaray's defensive line as they continue their domestic and European campaigns.
