It won’t be easy, but the Turkish giant might secure the coveted Nigerian striker for a lower fee than other clubs. Will they gather enough funds?

Victor Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray. He’s regarded as one of the world’s most sought-after strikers, but a dream move to the Premier League didn’t materialize this summer. This led to significant tension at Napoli, which had hoped for a substantial financial return from his sale. Osimhen has been performing exceptionally well in Turkey, leaving fans wondering how long he’ll remain with the club.

The loan is valid until the end of the season, but there’s a possibility the 25-year-old could leave as early as January if the right opportunity arises.

Osimhen himself has stated his intention to stay at Galatasaray for the season, where he feels very comfortable. This statement has sparked discussions in Turkey about potentially purchasing his contract from Napoli. Such a move would be a sensation and mark the biggest transfer in Turkish football history.

But can Galatasaray afford it? On the surface, it seems unlikely. The club’s record signing was made this year for €18 million. Acquiring Osimhen, however, would require €75 million—a price set exclusively for the Turkish club and valid only in January. Italian clubs, by contrast, would need to pay €90 million for him.

While buying out Osimhen’s contract seems unrealistic for Galatasaray, there’s a belief in Turkey that the club will explore every avenue and push its limits to make this historic transfer happen—a move that would resonate across European football for years.

For now, it still appears that Osimhen will likely leave Turkey in the summer. Interest is high in England and France, with Juventus recently being mentioned as well.
