Galatasaray lead the race for Red Star’s 17-year-old playmaker Vasilije Kostov, with Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Bayern also monitoring the Serbian talent.
Galatasaray have emerged as the most determined suitor for Vasilije Kostov, the 17-year-old playmaker regarded as one of Crvena zvezda’s brightest prospects.
According to reports in Turkey, the Istanbul club are prepared to step up their pursuit in an attempt to outmanoeuvre European rivals and secure the Serbian youth international.
Kostov has impressed scouts across the continent over recent months. Clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Bayern Munich have all tracked his development, but Galatasaray appear ready to move beyond monitoring and into formal negotiations.
Red Star set their valuation
In Istanbul, Kostov is viewed as a long-term investment and a potential solution in the traditional No. 10 role — a creative midfielder capable of dictating tempo and unlocking defences.
Red Star, however, have made their position clear. General director Zvezdan Terzić previously underlined the club’s expectations.
“Vasilije Kostov’s price is €20 million,” Terzić stated.
That valuation signals that any interested club must commit significant financial resources to secure the teenager’s signature. For Galatasaray, who have increased spending in recent seasons to strengthen their European ambitions, such a figure would represent a major strategic investment.
Europe watches, Red Star wait
Kostov ranks among the most promising young players in the Balkans, and Red Star see him as a cornerstone of their future project. The Belgrade club have built a reputation for developing and selling elite prospects, often commanding premium fees for academy graduates.
Interest continues to intensify week by week, placing Red Star in a strong negotiating position as they weigh the timing of a potential sale.
Whether Galatasaray translate their interest into a concrete offer remains to be seen, but the race for Kostov underlines his growing reputation within European football.
