Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a €70 million bid to sign Victor Osimhen permanently from Napoli, offering him a record-breaking salary to stay in Turkey.
Galatasaray are preparing one of the most ambitious transfer moves in their history as they attempt to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent basis following his sensational loan spell in Istanbul.
According to recent reports, the Istanbul-based club is ready to offer Napoli €70 million for the Nigerian striker, and is prepared to hand him a three-year contract worth up to €15 million per season. The move is seen as part of Galatasaray’s broader strategy to become a consistent force in European football.
Osimhen's impact in Turkey
Since joining Galatasaray on loan in September 2024, Osimhen has enjoyed a prolific campaign. In 33 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 28 goals and provided five assists, rapidly becoming the club’s leading offensive figure. He is just three goals away from matching his best-ever season tally of 31 goals, achieved with Napoli.
His arrival has helped Galatasaray maintain their position at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig, while also pushing for success in Europe. The club now sees him as an essential piece for its long-term future.
Napoli negotiations: a financial hurdle
Napoli reportedly value Osimhen at €75 million, the amount of his release clause. While initially considered out of reach, Galatasaray have received significant financial backing from key sponsorship partners, who are willing to cover up to two-thirds of the transfer fee. This backing would allow the Turkish side to structure the payment in instalments, softening the financial blow and making the deal feasible.
Despite interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, Napoli are open to finalising a transfer if their financial demands are met. Osimhen remains under contract with the Serie A side until 2027, which strengthens Napoli’s position in negotiations.
A record salary on the table
To tempt Osimhen into staying in Turkey long-term, Galatasaray are offering him a salary package worth between €12 and €15 million annually, a significant increase from his current €6.5 million net wages under his loan deal.
Should the deal go through, Osimhen would become the highest-paid footballer in Turkish football history, surpassing all current and former salary benchmarks at the club and in the league.
