Gareth Bale believes Kylian Mbappe’s recent actions at Real Madrid have crossed the line as pressure and criticism continue growing around the French superstar.
Gareth Bale knows exactly how intense life at Real Madrid can become, and now the former Welsh star has offered blunt advice to Kylian Mbappe.
Bale himself experienced difficult periods during his time in Madrid. Despite winning major trophies, scoring decisive goals, and becoming one of the club’s most important players during successful years, his relationship with sections of the media and supporters often became tense.
Because of that experience, Bale understands the pressure currently surrounding Mbappe.
What he does not understand is the French star’s recent behavior.
"Real Madrid doesn't need more talent, they need more discipline."
"It's not right for a player to criticize his coach in the mixed zone. Period. It doesn't matter if you're Kylian Mbappe or someone else."
"I've never exposed myself like that or said I don't follow the coaches' conferences."
Mbappe has repeatedly found himself at the center of controversy in recent weeks.
The forward faced criticism after taking a holiday in Italy while recovering from injury. He also attracted attention online after liking posts linking José Mourinho with a return to Real Madrid.
The situation became even more complicated after Mbappe publicly criticized coach Alvaro Arbeloa and later posted on social media during the derby against Barcelona while Real were already losing 2-0.
Frustration among supporters has grown rapidly.
Some fans have even launched petitions demanding the club part ways with the French superstar after a disappointing season without trophies.
Real Madrid’s leadership now faces a difficult summer filled with major decisions about the squad, dressing-room atmosphere, and long-term direction of the club.
And Bale’s message is clear, talent alone is never enough at the Santiago Bernabeu.
