Alejandro Garnacho’s stunning overhead kick for Manchester United against Everton is a strong contender for the FIFA Puskás Award.
Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United has dazzled the football world with a spectacular overhead kick, scored in a November 2023 match against Everton. The goal, which stunned fans at Goodison Park, left Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford helpless and quickly became a viral sensation.
Red Devils legend Gary Neville described the strike as the best overhead goal he has ever witnessed, further cementing its place among the season’s most memorable moments.
Garnacho’s goal is now a top contender for the prestigious FIFA Puskás Award, presented annually to the scorer of the most spectacular goal. However, competition is fierce, with notable entries like Mohammed Kudus for his solo effort with West Ham and Jaden Philogene, who scored a brilliant rabona goal for Hull City.
Should Garnacho win, he would become the first Manchester United player to receive the award since Erik Lamela in 2021. Previous Premier League winners include Olivier Giroud (2017), Mohamed Salah (2018), and Son Heung-min (2020).
