Inter Milan officially unveil Croatian talent Petar Sučić, signing the midfielder from Dinamo Zagreb for €14M ahead of their Club World Cup campaign.

Petar Sučić is now officially an Inter Milan player, completing a move that was agreed last winter while he was still at Dinamo Zagreb. The 21-year-old Croatian midfielder signed his contract and was presented on Wednesday, with Dinamo receiving €14 million, plus a potential €2 million in bonuses. His reported salary is €1.5 million per season, according to Calcio e Finanza.

Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport has described the move as a crucial step for Inter’s long-term midfield planning, highlighting that while current starters Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are untouchable for now, Sučić represents the future of the Nerazzurri midfield.

"Mkhitaryan is 36 and entering the final year of his contract, but Inter have already grabbed the future: it's the 21-year-old Croatian from Dinamo," writes Gazzetta.

Sučić's integration will coincide with a reshuffle in Inter’s midfield ranks. Kristjan Asllani is expected to leave, while Davide Frattesi could also depart if he isn’t guaranteed a starting role. Piotr Zieliński, who arrived with high expectations, is expected to stay as a rotation option.

The first big test for Sučić in an Inter shirt will come in June at the FIFA Club World Cup, where the Serie A runners-up will compete in a group featuring River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds, and Monterrey. The tournament could offer an ideal platform for Sučić to prove he belongs at the top level.
