Georgi Dermendzhiev resigns as Ludogorets coach after a crushing 7-2 defeat to Qarabag in the Champions League qualifiers, leaving the Bulgarian champions in turmoil.
Georgi Dermendzhiev is no longer the coach of Ludogorets, the reigning champions of Bulgaria.
The club's management accepted Dermendzhiev's resignation following a devastating 7-2 loss at home to Qarabag in the third round of the Champions League qualifiers. This shocking result came despite Ludogorets winning the first leg 2-1.
Interestingly, the match in Bulgaria went into extra time as Qarabag led 3-2 in regulation, before the Azerbaijani side scored four more goals to seal the win.
Before training, Dermendzhiev said his goodbyes to the players, with his assistant Todor Zhivondov also leaving the club. The team will be temporarily managed by Zahari Sirakov, who was previously the coach of Ludogorets' second team.
