Gianluigi Donnarumma enters the final year of his PSG contract but says extending his stay in Paris is his top priority.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has addressed the uncertainty surrounding his future, with his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire in 2026. Despite recent speculation and PSG’s own internal reshuffling, the Italian goalkeeper made it clear that his intention is to remain in Paris and sign a new deal.
"My priority is to stay in Paris and sign a new contract. I don't believe there will be any problems with that," Donnarumma told reporters, putting to rest rumours of a potential summer exit.
The 25-year-old, who joined PSG from AC Milan in 2021 on a free transfer, has just completed what many consider his best season since arriving in France. Donnarumma made 40 appearances in all competitions, conceded 39 goals, and kept 12 clean sheets, helping PSG to lift both the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League trophy.
Although PSG have been linked with other goalkeepers, including Milan's Mike Maignan, Donnarumma’s performances this season have cemented his role as the club's No. 1. Standing at 196 cm, the Italian international remains one of the most physically imposing and technically gifted goalkeepers in world football.
With just one year left on his contract, talks over an extension are expected to begin soon, and based on Donnarumma’s latest comments, both sides appear aligned on continuing their partnership.
