The Peruvian winger remains in Belgrade after negotiations with the Mexican club collapsed before the transfer deadline.
João Grimaldo will not be leaving Partizan, as his proposed move to FC Juárez has officially fallen through. According to Telegraf.rs, the two clubs engaged in negotiations but ultimately failed to reach a final agreement before the Mexican transfer window closed.
Partizan had been open to offloading Grimaldo to ease their wage budget, and initial talks suggested a loan deal worth $100,000, with an optional purchase clause of €1.9 million—a figure exceeding what the Belgrade club initially paid Sporting Cristal for his transfer.
Despite the promising discussions, the deal did not materialize, leaving Grimaldo in Humska for the foreseeable future. The Peruvian winger has struggled for playing time at Partizan, rarely featuring in recent months and receiving limited minutes when given an opportunity.
With the Mexican winter transfer window now closed, any potential move will have to wait until the summer, unless another opportunity arises elsewhere.
