Viktor Gyokeres has responded to transfer links with Arsenal after leading Sporting to a domestic double and a 53-goal season.
Viktor Gyokeres has broken his silence on speculation surrounding his future, as rumours linking the Sporting Lisbon striker to Arsenal continue to heat up.
Following Sporting’s 3–1 win over Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final, which sealed a domestic double, the Swedish international was asked about a possible move to the Premier League—and his answer left the door wide open.
"I don’t know what will happen. You never know in football," Gyokeres said.
When directly asked about Arsenal, he added: "Linked with Arsenal? I don’t know anything about that. My focus was on the games until now. If those rumours are true, then… we’ll see during the summer."
A record-breaking season
The 25-year-old striker has just completed a phenomenal campaign, scoring 53 goals across all competitions and becoming one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe. Sporting, meanwhile, finished the season top of the league with 82 points, ahead of rivals Benfica, and capped it off with a dramatic win in the cup final.
While Sporting have not officially confirmed his release clause, reports suggest it is set between €65–70 million—a figure Arsenal would be prepared to meet if they decide to make a move.
Gyokeres , who joined Sporting from Coventry City last summer, has quickly become one of the most lethal finishers in Europe, blending physicality, pace, and clinical finishing.
With Arsenal still searching for a reliable No. 9, the Swedish striker is high on their radar.
