Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting, having met with his agent to beat Manchester United to the Swedish striker.
Arsenal are accelerating their efforts to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, with reports from CNN Portugal confirming that the player’s agent, Hasan Çetinkaya, held a crucial meeting with the Gunners’ board earlier today. This development marks a shift from exploratory talks to a more concrete negotiation phase.
Manager Mikel Arteta has identified the Swedish forward as the ideal profile to strengthen the squad’s attacking line for next season. Arsenal are preparing to submit an official offer shortly, encouraged by the player’s interest in the move and the club’s desire to wrap up the deal swiftly.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have also made their move. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have increased contact with Gyokeres’ entourage over the past week. Despite this, Arsenal are currently in the lead, with United trailing in the race for the 26-year-old striker, who had an outstanding season in Portugal.
