Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé have equaled Lionel Messi’s record of scoring in 10 straight games — and now aim to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary 12-match streak.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé are rewriting the record books once again. The Manchester City and Real Madrid superstars have both scored in each of their last ten matches across all competitions, matching the streaks once achieved by Lionel Messi during the 2010/11 and 2012/13 seasons.
Their incredible consistency in front of goal has sparked comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo — the ultimate benchmark. The Portuguese icon remains the all-time record-holder after scoring in 12 consecutive matches, a feat he achieved twice during his time at Real Madrid, in the 2014/15 and 2017/18 seasons.
Haaland will have a chance to extend his scoring streak within days as Manchester City prepare to host Everton at the Etihad Stadium. The Norwegian has been in ruthless form, scoring in every match since mid-August, and shows no sign of slowing down.
Mbappé’s situation is less certain. The French forward is currently nursing an ankle injury that forced him to miss part of his last international outing. His return date remains unclear, and reports suggest he might not feature again until Real Madrid’s clash with Juventus.
Still, both players’ numbers are staggering. Haaland continues to terrorize Premier League defenses with his trademark precision and power, while Mbappé’s speed and flair have made him the heartbeat of Real Madrid’s attack. Together, they are the faces of modern football — and both are closing in on Ronaldo’s record with relentless determination.
