After Perišić, Rakitić and Livaja, Hajduk are now targeting 31-year-old Ante Rebić, who is available as a free agent after leaving Lecce.
Hajduk Split are looking to continue their trend of bringing Croatian internationals back home, with Ante Rebić emerging as their latest transfer target.
Following the high-profile returns of Marko Livaja, Ivan Perišić, and Ivan Rakitić, Hajduk are now focused on Rebić, who is currently a free agent after his contract with Lecce expired on July 1st.
Now 31, Rebić has struggled in recent seasons, both with form and fitness. Once a key part of the Croatia national team, he has dropped out of international contention, following a sharp decline after his move from AC Milan to Lecce.
Last season in Serie A, he made 28 appearances, but played only 822 minutes and scored a single goal, which came in a draw against Juventus.
According to Dalmatinski portal, there is genuine interest from both sides, and Rebić is keen on a return to Croatian football after more than a decade abroad.
He began his career at RNK Split before earning a move to Fiorentina at just 19 years old for €4.5 million. Since then, he's played for RB Leipzig, Hellas Verona, Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, Beşiktaş, and most recently Lecce.
Now, after 11 years in European football, Rebić could be set to wear Hajduk’s white shirt as the club continues building a roster rich with national team experience and homegrown pride.
