Robert Lewandowski has already scored 40 goals this season, and Barcelona boss Hansi Flick believes his professionalism is on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo's.
Robert Lewandowski continues to defy time. At 36 years old, the Polish striker is having another sensational season, already scoring 40 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona.
As the Catalan giants prepare for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund, head coach Hansi Flick praised Lewandowski's longevity and work ethic, comparing him to football's ultimate physical machine—Cristiano Ronaldo.
"When you play football at such a high level at this age... On the one hand, it's a question of preparation, and on the other hand, it's very important how a player takes care of himself," Flick explained.
"Lewandowski, like Cristiano Ronaldo, has an exceptional physical structure. He is a top professional and controls all factors of his life to squeeze the optimal effect out of it."
Lewandowski's discipline, diet, recovery, and training routines are said to be key to his enduring success, mirroring the habits that have kept Ronaldo among the elite well into his 30s. With Barcelona chasing silverware and Lewandowski chasing more goals, his form continues to inspire both teammates and fans alike.
