Harry Kane reflects on scoring a “special goal” for Bayern Munich, reaching 50 Bundesliga goals in record time while showcasing a moment of brilliance in a 3-0 win over Augsburg.
Harry Kane has described his latest goal for Bayern Munich as one of the most special of his career, marking a major milestone by reaching 50 Bundesliga goals faster than anyone in history.
The England captain hit the half-century mark in just 43 matches, cementing his place among the German top-flight’s elite scorers. Kane’s achievement came in style during Bayern’s 3-0 victory over Augsburg, a game in which he scored a hat-trick – his third in the Bundesliga this season.
Kane’s treble included two precise penalty conversions and a stunning stoppage-time goal that has since gone viral. Describing the moment, Kane told Cleats: "A lot of you have been asking about the third goal. It was a pretty special goal – probably one of the favourites in my career. I’ve not really scored a goal like that before."
He continued, "First of all it’s a great ball by Leon – the cross-pass was pinpoint – and as the ball is coming in, I was a little bit worried that the keeper was going to come out and try to punch it. I just caught a glimpse in my eye that he was going back and I was able to instinctively put my foot up where I thought the ball was going to be and I was able to touch it perfectly, it popped up perfectly, and then nice to finish it off."
"Obviously a special goal, also my 50th goal in the Bundesliga. It meant a lot to me. One of my favourite ones for sure and one that will probably be played for quite a while."
The 31-year-old’s moment of individual brilliance has drawn widespread praise, with fans across the globe celebrating his instinct, skill, and composure. Kane has now reached 20 goals for the season, a tally that includes three Bundesliga hat-tricks and one in the Champions League. With Bayern well-positioned to claim silverware, Kane’s impact on and off the pitch continues to elevate the Bavarian giants.
