Harry Kane is expected to begin formal negotiations with Bayern Munich next week over a new contract, according to the BBC. The Bundesliga champions are determined to tie down their leading goalscorer as quickly as possible and remain confident that an agreement will be reached.
The club's hierarchy has already informed the England captain that they want to extend his stay in Munich, with both parties now preparing to sit down and discuss the terms of a new long-term deal.
Kane, who will celebrate his 33rd birthday in four days, joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 in a transfer worth around €100 million. Since arriving in Germany, he has established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in world football.
During his two seasons at the club, Kane has helped Bayern win two Bundesliga titles and the DFB-Pokal, while his individual numbers have been extraordinary. He has scored 146 goals in 134 appearances for the German giants.
His most recent campaign was particularly remarkable. Across club and international football during the 2025/26 season, Kane scored an incredible 73 goals in 64 matches and added eight assists, once again underlining his status as one of the world's elite strikers.
He also carried that form into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finishing the tournament with six goals as England secured third place. Kane was one of the standout performers of the competition and once again demonstrated why he remains one of the game's most complete centre-forwards.
Although Bayern are eager to finalise a new agreement quickly, there has been no shortage of interest from elsewhere. Barcelona have reportedly monitored Kane's situation for some time, but the Bavarian club remain relaxed about the situation.
Kane is said to be extremely happy with life in Munich, while Bayern view him as one of the key figures around whom they intend to build the team over the coming years. That is why the club wants negotiations concluded as soon as possible and any uncertainty over his future removed before the new season gathers momentum.
