A transfer that once seemed impossible is now generating increasing speculation across Europe. According to reports from England, Arsenal have been working for months on an ambitious plan to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.
The Brazilian winger remains under contract at the Santiago Bernabéu, but negotiations over a new deal have reportedly stalled, encouraging Arsenal to believe an extraordinary opportunity could emerge before the transfer window closes.
According to the latest reports, Arsenal have already made significant progress in discussions with the player's representatives. The London club are said to have resolved the issue of Vinicius' salary and are even prepared to reshape their wage structure to accommodate one of the world's biggest stars.
The proposal reportedly includes a substantial signing bonus as well as attractive commercial and marketing rights, reflecting Arsenal's belief that Vinicius would transform the club both on the pitch and commercially.
The Gunners' hierarchy has also reportedly approved the financial framework for what would become one of the biggest transfers in Premier League history, including both the transfer fee and the player's salary package.
The key question, however, remains Real Madrid's position.
According to reports from Spain, negotiations over a contract extension have become complicated because Vinicius is seeking a significant signing bonus as part of any new agreement.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and the club's leadership are reportedly reluctant to accept that demand. Club officials fear it would create a precedent that could encourage other leading players, including Jude Bellingham, to request similar bonuses during future contract negotiations.
The issue has reportedly divided opinion inside the Santiago Bernabéu. Some members of the club's leadership believe selling Vinicius for a record fee could strengthen Real Madrid's long-term project, while others consider the Brazilian untouchable and refuse to discuss any possible transfer.
For now, Vinicius remains a Real Madrid player, but with contract talks reportedly making little progress and Arsenal waiting in the background, one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer appears far from over.
