Napoli are targeting Kevin De Bruyne and Federico Chiesa for a major rebuild after selling Kvaratskhelia and anticipating Osimhen’s exit this summer.
As Napoli prepare for life without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and likely soon Victor Osimhen, the club is already laying the groundwork for a major squad rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 season. And two big names top the wishlist: Kevin De Bruyne and Federico Chiesa.
Kvaratskhelia was sold during the winter window, and with Osimhen expected to depart in the summer for a massive fee, Napoli will have both financial flexibility and a need for top-level reinforcements. Club management is reportedly eyeing several high-profile moves, including two stars whose futures are currently in question.
Napoli have already made an official two-year contract offer to Kevin De Bruyne, who could leave Manchester City as a free agent this summer. The Belgian playmaker, now in his mid-30s, has been hampered by injuries but remains one of the most creative midfielders in Europe when fit. His potential arrival would be both a statement signing and a bridge into a new era.
Meanwhile, Italian media report that Napoli are also pushing for Federico Chiesa, who has found himself on the fringes at Liverpool after a difficult season. The Serie A side would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy, but Liverpool are said to demand an obligatory purchase clause as part of any move.
Chiesa, still only 27, has struggled with consistency and injuries since his move from Juventus but is viewed by Napoli as a player who could reignite his career back in Italy.
In attack, Napoli are also targeting Jonathan David, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Lille expired, and Karim Adeyemi, currently with Borussia Dortmund, as they look to inject pace and youth into their frontline.
Napoli's approach reflects a desire to remain competitive at the top of Serie A, while also refreshing a squad that could lose its two most iconic figures of recent years. The question remains: do De Bruyne and Chiesa still have enough in the tank to deliver at the highest level?
