Oscar Zambrano could leave Hull City only weeks after arriving at the club, with the Premier League newcomers considering sending the 21-year-old midfielder out on loan.
According to Hull Live, Hull are looking to create additional space in Sergej Jakirović's squad before the transfer window closes, and Zambrano has emerged as one of the leading candidates for a temporary departure.
No agreement has yet been reached, but two potential destinations have already emerged. Celtic and Cardiff City are both being mentioned as possible options for the Ecuadorian.
Scotland instead of the Premier League?
A move to Celtic would represent a particularly interesting opportunity. Zambrano could compete for domestic trophies in Scotland while also gaining valuable European experience and, crucially, receiving the regular playing time Hull may not currently be able to offer him.
Cardiff would provide a different solution, allowing Zambrano to remain in English football and continue his development in the Championship.
The situation represents a surprising turnaround considering Hull only brought Zambrano to the club during the current transfer window. However, with Jakirović's squad strengthened considerably over the summer, regular first-team minutes could be difficult to guarantee.
Hull have been extremely active in the market and must now make final decisions over the size and structure of their squad. For Zambrano, that could mean leaving almost immediately after arriving, with a deadline-day loan increasingly possible.
