Inigo Eguaras joins Slovenian champions Celje, aiming to revive his career after a 14-month injury layoff.
Inigo Eguaras, a 32-year-old Spanish midfielder, has officially joined the reigning Slovenian champions Celje, with the club confirming the signing on their official website. Eguaras is set to remain with Celje until the end of the current season.
Eguaras, who rose through the youth ranks at Athletic Bilbao, has spent the majority of his career in Spain’s Segunda División, playing for clubs such as Mirandés and Zaragoza. Most recently, he featured for Almería, even making appearances in La Liga. However, Eguaras has been without a club for over a year after suffering a knee injury during a trial period with a potential new team, sidelining him for 14 months.
Now fully recovered and having passed a trial with Celje, Eguaras is eager to contribute to the club's ambitions for the season. "He is now healthy, rehabilitated, and ready to help Celje achieve its goals," the club stated.
