A violent criminal network known as the “Gucci Gang” is orchestrating luxury home raids on Premier League footballers and WAGs, stealing millions in goods later traded for drugs and weapons.
Premier League stars are being hunted by an organised crime network that combines Irish gangsters and Albanian thieves in a series of high-value burglaries across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The notorious Dublin-based Gucci Gang has been linked to multiple break-ins at footballers’ homes, with stolen luxury watches, jewellery, and designer goods — often worth over £1 million — later shipped across Europe and exchanged for drugs and firearms.
Recent victims include Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Alexander Isak, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose families were left terrified after armed raiders struck while they were away or watching games. In many cases, criminals used Instagram posts to track valuables and locate targets.
One police insider described the operations as “military-level precision”, with gangs arriving in multiple vehicles, using telescopic ladders to access upper floors, and targeting bedrooms and dressing rooms — where players often keep high-value watches and jewellery.
After each heist, the goods are transported north to Scotland before being smuggled by ferry to Ireland, where they are received by the Gucci Gang, a syndicate led by jailed criminal Glen “Mr Flashy” Ward. Ward, who is serving five years for firing a semi-automatic weapon at a house party, is a known associate of the Kinahan cartel.
“These are career criminals who know burglary carries lighter sentences than armed robbery,” a source told The Sun. “They work with Albanian crews who are experts in surveillance and identifying weak spots in players’ home security.”
To combat the wave of burglaries, clubs like Manchester United have hired private security teams to guard players’ homes. Many footballers have installed panic rooms, motion-detection geofencing, and even trained guard dogs such as Dobermanns, Rottweilers, and Alsatians.
However, even top-tier protection has failed to deter thieves. Sterling suffered a £300,000 raid while at the 2022 World Cup, confronting masked intruders with a knife to protect his family. Meanwhile, Grealish’s fiancée Sasha Attwood was inside their home with relatives when their £5.6m mansion was targeted — losing £1m in valuables despite security alarms.
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury lost £800,000 in designer goods in 2022, while Bradley Dack and Olivia Attwood have endured three separate break-ins, eventually forcing them to move homes.
The gang’s stolen goods are typically sold in Euros to avoid currency tracking, with many items ending up on the black market in Spain and Eastern Europe. Police believe the Gucci Gang’s sophisticated European links make the operation one of the most lucrative burglary rings targeting elite athletes in the world.
