Inter are close to signing Tarik Muharemović from Sassuolo, with a five-year contract agreed, while Juventus’ clause complicates the final structure of the transfer.

Young Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemović is close to the biggest transfer of his career. According to Italian and regional media, Inter have already reached an agreement with the player regarding personal terms, and final negotiations are now underway with his club Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old central defender is expected to sign a five-year contract, under which he would earn around 1.5 million euros per year, and would additionally be rewarded with bonuses linked to the team's successes.

The deal is not entirely simple, however. The situation is complicated by the fact that Juventus has the right to 50 percent of the compensation, which means that a large part of the amount would end up with Inter's great rival. That is why the Milanese club is looking for a way to structure the transfer in order to reduce this share as much as possible.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Inter are considering a slightly more complex solution. "Inter could offer a loan worth between three and five million euros, with an obligation to buy for 25 to 28 million euros. The aim is for Juventus to earn as little as possible in this deal," Schira revealed.

Despite the complications, Inter are currently the closest to signing the defender, although there has been a lot of interest in him. Barcelona, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth are also said to be monitoring him, but it seems that the Italian giants have won the battle for his signature.

This season, he has made 29 appearances for Sassuolo and scored two goals, which has also drawn attention in the wider European market. Interestingly, he was previously a member of Juventus for four years, but did not get a real opportunity there, and he also played in Austria for Wolfsberger.

Muharemović, born in Ljubljana, holds a Slovenian passport in addition to his Bosnian one, but he moved to Austria with his family at an early age and later decided to play for the national team of his parents' homeland.

Once CroInter, now Ex-Yu Inter

Croatian midfielder Petar Sučić is playing successfully for Inter this season, and next season there are quite real possibilities that three very promising footballers from the former Yugoslavia will defend the colors of Inter.

In addition to Muharemović, Serbian midfielder Aleksandar Stanković, the son of legendary Inter midfielder Dejan Stanković and currently one of the best footballers of Club Brugge, is also a major transfer target for Inter.
