Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirms club’s interest in Aleksandar Stanković, highlighting €23m buy-back clause as midfielder continues to impress at Club Brugge.
Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta has underlined the club’s strong position regarding Aleksandar Stanković, stating that the Serbian midfielder remains firmly within their long-term plans.
Stanković, currently developing at Club Brugge, joined the Belgian side two years ago with Inter inserting a €23 million buy-back clause into the agreement. As his performances continue to improve this season, speculation about a return to San Siro has intensified.
Marotta confirms monitoring
Speaking from the Meazza, Marotta made it clear that Inter are closely following the 19-year-old’s progress.
“We follow Club Brugge’s matches. Aleksandar is progressing very well. We did not include the buy-back clause by accident. We recognised his potential and knew he would develop,” Marotta said.
He added that there is no immediate rush but emphasised Inter’s contractual advantage.
“We still have two years before the clause expires. It is too early to talk about it, we will analyse the situation carefully. The good thing is that Stanković is practically ours. At Club Brugge he is gaining valuable experience.”
Rapid development
The son of former Inter and Serbia midfielder Dejan Stanković, Aleksandar has emerged as one of the most promising young Serbian talents abroad. Regular playing time in Belgium has accelerated his development, and his displays have not gone unnoticed in Italy.
With Inter maintaining a buy-back option and Stanković under contract in Bruges, the Nerazzurri hold a favourable negotiating position.
If his upward trajectory continues, a move back to one of Europe’s top leagues appears increasingly likely, potentially placing the Serbia international on the biggest stage in the near future.
