Inter is not convinced Barcelona can afford Alessandro Bastoni, with the Italian club demanding at least €50 million and waiting for financial guarantees.
Inter are skeptical about Barcelona’s ability to complete a major summer transfer for Alessandro Bastoni, with doubts focused on the Spanish club’s financial capacity.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter value the 27-year-old defender at around €70 million, though a deal could be negotiated in the range of €50–60 million with performance-related bonuses.
However, Inter’s management has not received clear guarantees that Barcelona can finance such a move under current conditions.
The main obstacle remains financial fair play. Barcelona are working to meet the 1:1 rule, which would allow them to spend more freely on transfers.
Without that balance, the club may need to sell players before making any significant signings.
Despite the uncertainty, Barcelona have made progress on the player side.
Reports suggest there is already a verbal agreement with Bastoni on a five-year contract, indicating the defender is open to the move.
Inter, though, remain firm. Bastoni is seen as a key figure in defense and part of the club’s long-term plans.
The Italian side are not willing to lower their demands, especially with interest from Premier League clubs that have stronger financial flexibility.
The situation reflects ongoing challenges for Barcelona, whose recent transfer plans have often been limited by financial constraints.
The coming weeks will determine whether the Catalan club can overcome these issues and turn interest into a concrete deal.
