Inter will activate a €6 million buy option to sign Roma loanee Nicola Zalewski permanently, after the 23-year-old impressed during his time in Milan.

Inter Milan are set to complete the permanent signing of Nicola Zalewski for just €6 million, turning what was initially a short-term fix into a long-term investment.

The 23-year-old full-back, who arrived on loan from AS Roma in January, has impressed with his performances, providing a reliable alternative to Federico Dimarco on the left flank.

Despite being a rotational player, Zalewski made 12 appearances, delivered three assists, and scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri in the final round of the Serie A season — further solidifying his case for a permanent role.

Inter had included a €6 million purchase option in the loan deal and now intend to trigger it — a move widely seen as excellent business, considering Zalewski's current market value of €10 million, which could rise even further following the Champions League final.

The Polish international had struggled for playing time at Roma earlier this season, but his revival at Inter has reignited his career. His versatility, work rate, and tactical intelligence make him a strong backup option, especially in a demanding system that relies heavily on attacking wing-backs.

An interesting stat that underlines Inter’s depth this season: with Zalewski’s goal, all 21 outfield players in Inter’s squad have now scored at least once this campaign. Only the goalkeepers remain without a goal.
