Inter Milan secured the Serie A title after last season’s disappointments, thanks to Beppe Marotta’s bold decision to appoint Cristian Chivu.
Inter Milan has won its 21st Italian championship title after a 2-0 victory over Parma, confirming a dominant season.
The club from Milan strengthens its place in history. It now sits second in total titles, behind Juventus with 36. In contrast, city rival AC Milan remains on 19.
Marotta reshapes Inter
Since Beppe Marotta took charge, Inter has built a winning structure. This is the third league title during his tenure.
The season could still end with more success. Inter will play the Coppa Italia final on May 13 against Lazio, with a double within reach.
Last season brought setbacks on all fronts
The current success follows a difficult campaign.
Inter lost the Champions League final, missed the league title by one point, lost the Super Cup final, and only reached the semi-finals of the domestic cup.
At that time, the team was led by Simone Inzaghi, who then accepted a lucrative offer from Al Hilal and left the club.
Risky decision proves correct
Inter had to react quickly. Marotta identified potential in Cristian Chivu and appointed him as head coach, with Aleksandar Kolarov as assistant.
Chivu had limited experience, making the decision a clear risk.
However, the move proved successful. Inter responded with a consistent and dominant season, turning previous disappointment into a title-winning campaign.
Dominance confirmed with numbers
With the title already secured, Inter has shown clear superiority. The team controlled the season and left rivals behind.
The turnaround from last year to this season highlights the impact of leadership decisions at the club.
Marotta’s strategy once again delivered results, while Chivu confirmed his status as a coach capable of leading at the highest level.
