Brazilian midfielder Joelinton made a scandalous move during the second round of the Premier League match between Bournemouth and Newcastle.
Joelinton, known as an exceptionally tough player, often finds himself punished with cards, and the match against Bournemouth was no exception.
In the final seconds of the match, as Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Neto attempted to launch a quick counter-attack, Joelinton reacted inappropriately. The Brazilian midfielder executed a wrestling-like move, grabbing the goalkeeper by the neck from behind and bringing him down to the ground.
Despite the severity of the action, the referee only "rewarded" Joelinton with a yellow card. Many believe this should have been a straight red card.
Interestingly, this was Joelinton’s 41st yellow card in 186 appearances for Newcastle since joining the club in 2019 from Hoffenheim.
Amazingly, but true—Joelinton has never received a red card!
