Omri Glazer could join Pisa in Serie A as Red Star prepare to replace him with Marko Dmitrović this summer.
Omri Glazer’s time at Red Star Belgrade appears to be nearing its end. According to reports from Israeli media, newly-promoted Serie A club Pisa have made an official bid for the Israeli international goalkeeper, signalling a potential summer transfer.
While the offer's value has not been disclosed, Red Star are reportedly open to the move—especially if they can recoup the investment made in summer 2023, when Glazer arrived as a key target for former head coach Barak Bachar. His early performances were promising, particularly in the Champions League qualifiers, where he looked set to become a long-term solution between the posts.
However, a muscle injury suffered last summer disrupted his momentum. Glazer struggled to return to top form and ended up making just 12 league appearances across the season. In the meantime, Red Star identified a new solution—Serbian international Marko Dmitrović, who is expected to take over as first-choice goalkeeper starting in June.
Pisa, who earned promotion to Serie A by finishing second in Serie B, are keen to bolster their goalkeeping options. Current No. 1 Adrian Šemper, formerly of Dinamo Zagreb, is expected to face increased competition as the club, led by Filippo Inzaghi, aims to avoid relegation in Italy’s top flight.
Interestingly, Glazer had interest from France after last season, but Red Star opted to keep him, expecting his market value to rise. The injury, however, changed the trajectory of his season and his future with the Serbian champions.
Now, the move to Italy looks increasingly likely as Red Star prepare for a new era with Dmitrović in goal.
