Istra will break their transfer record by signing CS Sfaxien defender Mohamed Nasraoui for €350,000 plus a resale percentage.
Istra are on the verge of completing their most expensive signing ever, with Tunisian centre-back Mohamed Nasraoui set to join from CS Sfaxien, according to Istarski.hr and Pan African Football.
The 22-year-old defender, who is also a Tunisian youth international, made 27 appearances and scored once in the 2024/25 season. Transfermarkt values him at €700,000, but Istra are reportedly paying €350,000, with Sfaxien also retaining 15% of any future sale.
If finalised, the transfer will surpass Istra’s previous record deals. Ramon Mierez held the record when he joined on loan for €250,000 in 2018, while Danijel Đurić was bought for €200,000 from Vikingur this February.
This signing comes amid big changes at the Pula-based club. Istra finished sixth in the SuperSport HNL, just one point behind fourth-placed Varaždin, who earned a spot in the Conference League qualifiers.
Head coach Gonzalo Garcia has departed to take over Hajduk Split, with Goran Tomić now at the helm. Additionally, winger Mateo Lisica has moved to Dinamo Zagreb, and right-back Moris Valinčić is expected to follow him to the Croatian champions soon.
