Jack Grealish could leave Manchester City this summer, with Everton and Newcastle eyeing a potential deal after the England star was dropped from the Club World Cup squad.
Jack Grealish is facing an uncertain future at Manchester City after being left out of the squad for the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States. The 29-year-old has struggled for regular minutes under Pep Guardiola and is now reportedly on Everton’s radar as a potential summer signing.
Grealish made just seven Premier League starts during the 2024/25 season and was an unused substitute on 12 occasions. Despite winning three Premier League titles with City, his influence has significantly diminished over the past two campaigns.
City are reportedly open to selling their £100 million record signing for as little as £40 million, taking a substantial financial loss. However, Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages remain a major stumbling block for clubs like Everton, who may only be able to consider a loan deal due to financial constraints and profit & sustainability rules.
Newcastle United have also been linked with Grealish, and Bayern Munich could enter the race should they offload either Leroy Sané or Kingsley Coman this summer.
New England manager Thomas Tuchel has urged Grealish to seek regular minutes if he hopes to make the 2026 World Cup squad. “He’s a player who needs minutes and simply hasn’t had them,” Tuchel said. “It’s what’s missing – nothing else.”
Guardiola echoed that sentiment: “Jack is an unbelievable player that needs to play every three days. That didn’t happen this season or last. If it doesn’t happen here, maybe it happens somewhere else.”
While a permanent exit remains financially complicated, a high-profile loan move could be the likeliest outcome for the England international this summer.
