Jack Grealish admits he found it hard to accept being left out by England manager Gareth Southgate.
When Gareth Southgate announced the final England squad for the European Championship in Germany, he crushed Jack Grealish's hopes. The Manchester City player had to watch the tournament from the sidelines, which he describes as a difficult experience.
Grealish acknowledges that this was the toughest period of his career so far.
"It was hard to get my mind off it during the holiday; wherever I looked, there was the Euro. It was the toughest test of my career. It broke me. I have to turn that into motivation for the new season," Grealish said.
The 28-year-old believes he deserved a spot in the Euro squad.
"I think I should have been there. I could have offered the team something different. It is what it is. This was the hardest moment for me in my career, and I've had many ups and downs."
