After a difficult season and a private conversation with Pep Guardiola, Jack Grealish is set to leave Manchester City this summer, with Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Tottenham circling.
Jack Grealish arrived at Manchester City as a record-breaking £100 million signing in 2021, but four years on, his time at the Etihad appears to be coming to an underwhelming end.
According to multiple reports in England, the 29-year-old England international has been informed by Pep Guardiola that he is no longer part of the club’s future plans. The conversation, described as direct and decisive, reportedly changed everything for Grealish.
"After Pep spoke to him, nothing was the same again," a source close to the dressing room told English media. "He’s already preparing for his next move."
This season, Grealish has struggled to find form and rhythm. He has made 30 appearances across all competitions, but most of them came from the bench. His return of three goals and five assists highlights the drop-off from the player who once dazzled fans and defenders alike.
Manchester City are expected to make significant changes to their squad in the summer, and Grealish is among the first to be shown the door. His current contract runs until 2027, but with his market value now hovering around €35 million, City are prepared to let him go for what many will call a "cut-price" deal.
Despite earlier talk of a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, it now seems more likely that Grealish will remain in the Premier League. Sources suggest that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham have already expressed interest.
While a fairytale return to Villa Park might seem romantic, Grealish was heavily booed by Villa supporters after his departure, which could tilt the odds in favour of Tottenham or Newcastle. Both clubs are reportedly keen to reinvigorate their attacking depth and believe the former Villa captain still has much to offer.
City, meanwhile, have accepted the reality: they won’t recover anywhere near the £100 million they paid. And for Grealish, it’s about finding a place where he can rediscover himself before it's too late.
